Privacy Policy
Morse Watcher Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 25, 2026
Scope
This policy covers the Morse Watcher applications for iOS and Android, as well as the Morse Watcher website.
iOS App Privacy
Morse Watcher for iOS requests camera access only to detect flashing light patterns and decode Morse code timing. Camera access is used only while the app is actively monitoring a selected light source.
Morse Watcher for iOS does not collect personal information, does not require account creation, and does not use advertising identifiers.
Morse Watcher for iOS does not store photos, videos, or camera recordings. The app does not transmit camera data, decoded output, or any personal data to external servers.
All signal analysis and decoding are performed on-device. No camera data or decoded messages leave your device through Morse Watcher.
Morse Watcher for iOS requests microphone and speech recognition access only when you tap the microphone button to dictate a message. Your speech is transcribed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device speech recognition. The audio is never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere, including to the developer or to Apple's servers. You can deny or revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings without affecting the rest of the app.
The iOS app may store settings and purchase entitlement status locally on your device for functionality purposes. This information is not shared with the developer.
For the iOS app, in-app purchases are processed by Apple. The developer does not receive or store your payment information.
Android App Privacy
Morse Watcher for Android requests camera access solely to detect visible flashing light patterns and decode Morse code timing in real time. Camera access is active only while monitoring a designated light source. The app does not capture, store, or transmit photographs, video recordings, or raw camera feeds. All optical signal analysis and Morse code decoding occur strictly on your device.
The Android app does not require account creation or personal login credentials.
Morse Watcher for Android requests microphone access only when you tap the microphone button to dictate a message. Dictation uses your device's speech recognition service (typically provided by Google), which may process the audio on its servers to return the transcribed text, under that provider's privacy policy. Morse Watcher does not record or store the audio and does not send it to the developer. You can deny or revoke microphone access at any time in Android Settings without affecting the rest of the app.
Morse Watcher for Android does not display ads, does not include any advertising SDK, and does not use the Google Advertising ID.
Free Trial, Subscriptions & In-App Purchases
Morse Watcher for Android includes a 14-day free trial, after which an optional monthly or yearly subscription unlocks the app's features:
- Free Trial: The trial start date is stored locally on your device (and in your Android device backup, if you have backup turned on) so the trial is counted correctly. It is not sent to the developer.
- Payment Processing via Google Play: Subscriptions are handled through Google Play Billing. The developer does not collect, receive, or store your credit card or financial billing information.
- Local Entitlement Verification: Subscription status is verified with Google Play and stored locally on your device so the app can open without waiting for the network.
Google processes your purchase under the Google Privacy Policy.
Website Privacy
The Morse Watcher website is a public informational site. We do not provide user accounts, and we do not intentionally collect personal information through the site.
If you contact us directly by email, we may receive the personal information you choose to include in your message, such as your name, email address, and the contents of your inquiry. We use that information only to respond to you and handle your request.
We do not use advertising trackers, behavioral profiling, or social media tracking pixels on this site.
Like most websites, basic technical request data (such as IP address, browser details, and access time) may be processed by hosting, DNS, and content-delivery providers to serve the site and maintain security.
This site also loads typography from Google Fonts, which may involve requests from your browser to Google servers for font files.
Website Analytics
The Morse Watcher website (not the app) uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit the site, which pages they read, and how they found it (for example, from a search engine). Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and referring site. We use this information only in aggregate to improve the site. It is not used for advertising, and we do not combine it with any data from the Morse Watcher app.
Google processes this data under its own Privacy Policy; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out by blocking cookies in your browser or installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Data Sharing and Sale
We do not sell personal information. We never share app camera data, images, or decoded messages with third parties. For this website, visit statistics are processed by Google Analytics as described in the Website Analytics section.
